I am a graduate of the University of Alabama with a B.S. in Biology. I have been tutoring since high school; back then I tutored middle school math. I continued this through college tutoring calculus, organic chemistry, chemistry, and physics. I love teaching 1-on-1. I had several friends help me through classes, and it made a world of difference to me. Tutoring even helped hard classes that I didn't like become fun! My favorite subject to tutor is math, spanning the range from algebra and geometry to calculus. I love being able to help someone understand the problem solving process. I hope my tutoring style comes across as a friend helping the student to succeed. My biggest teaching philosophy is to emphasize how important confidence is to the student. You CAN figure this tough material out, and I will help you along the way. I love to ballroom dance. I also love dogs. I competed with my last dog in agility and obedience. I just got a new puppy from the shelter, and I hope to do the same with her. I like to read novels and go to the beach.
